Description
The National Civil Rights Museum is built around the former Lorraine Motel, where Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968. Walter Bailey the owner of the hotel changed the name from Lorraine Hotel to Lorraine Motel after a remodel. The museum was dedicated on July 4, 1991
